National Aboriginal Day
This week-end a bike ride on Saturday afternoon took me to the Summer Solstice Aboriginal Festival. I was thrilled to see a part of a dance competition and to hear the inuit throat singer who had performed at Justin Trudeau’s swearing in ceremony. And today Trudeau marks National Aboriginal Day with sunrise ritual, and canoe ride – while wearing his father’s buckskin jacket.
Have a great day!
Happy Victoria Day!
NCC introduces the Canada 150 Tulip
I love the Canada 150 Tulip. I look forward to seeing them all over the Capital. They are quite unique. Read more about the NCC’s launch here.
As of September 2016 they will be available for purchase at participating Home Hardware stores.

Easter Eggs
Let Martha show you how to dye eggs a natural way – there’s nothing she doesn’t know! I was also quite impressed with this method which involves making the imprint of a flower or a small branch by use of a nylon stocking. Below that video is another one demonstrating the weaving of yarn over a balloon.
