Happy Colonel By Day! Hum that sounds odd! Well nevertheless, we in Ottawa appreciate Colonel By’s supervision of the construction of the Rideau Canal, a National Historic Site of Canada and a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as playground for all seasons.

What great fun it is to be a father!
My life has taken oh so many twists and turns, over 3 continents.
But one thing has not changed for a long time and this is being called Papa. Lovely gift that!
Happy Father’s day!
We here in Ottawa have much to be thankfull to Queen Victoria. in 1857 she chose Ottawa to be the capital of Canada. She chose Ottawa because is was in between Montreal and Toronto and on the border of Ontario and Quebec. And because of this decision we are the city we are. So thank you Queen Victoria and happy birthday!
Working while watching the funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh I was looking for something to post when I realized there really is, in my mind, only one appropriate post today. My sympathies to the Queen, she has lost her liegeman. A man not used to being in second place who nevertheless acquiesced, and embraced his supporting role. I really feel for her!
