Open Air Shower Spaces

Love these spaces! So zen! Alas we don’t live in the ideal climate for them. It would have to be for a limited use during the summer.

But just looking at them makes me feel more relaxed.

They are quite lovely and very desirable. But given the wrong set of circumstances they create a threat for your walls and floors either by facilitating splashing or spillage – the wider expanse of open space around creates the danger.

Gemstone Countertops

So gemstone countertops! Who knew that was a thing? The babradorite is georgeous. I do love the petrified wood! A corner with amethist. Or tigers-eye why not? I have no idea how much these cost and that could be scarry, so… If you consider this either be extravagant and expect nothing of it or consider the ultimate value of your house. Buyers may not agree that a semi-precious counter top adds value to your home.

Moss Bath Mat

I’m really not sure about this one. Feels great “Lovely and soft underfeet” they say. I’ve always thought the feel of spongy moss to be a little disconcerting out in nature so bringing it in outside my shower: humm. But it does add a touch of green. Low maintenance green seemingly. You can purchase one. Buy a kit. Or start from scratch.

Shower Design Ideas

I wonder what can be said about the evolution of showers in the last 30 years or so. From minuscule dark enclosures with a frosted glass to large open spaces. The bathtub has had to surrender it’s limelight! In some houses the bathtub of the 80s was perched on a raised platform large enough for 2 (well almost large enough) and usually dusty from lack of use.

Nice shower designs here! Showers really have come a long way in the last few years.

Ok, it’s time to sell, now what? What can you do to make your home more attractive to those potential buyers coming in the front door? Before they even get to the front door, how can you appeal to them from the curb? You want to attract the perfect home buyer, not repel them with things that could easily be fixed. Here are some ideas from Ottawa real estate agents on how to upgrade your home to attract buyers without breaking the bank:

Exterior

Why not greet potential home buyers with fresh spring flowers at the front door or along the porch? And nothing says that a home is well-cared for and loved than a freshly mowed lawn and cleanly swept driveway and walkway. Liven up the front of your house with a fresh coat of paint on the front door or garage entry. Don’t forget to fix the sticky keyhole. You may know the trick by now, but it’s a turnoff for potential home buyers to have to struggle to get in the front door. Buy a new knob and lockset.

Declutter

People won’t even notice the potential of your home if all they see is clutter everywhere they look. Time to apply some elbow grease. Scrub grout, apply fresh caulking, and upgrade to a new faucet if necessary. Don’t overlook the toilet seat .A clean home speaks for itself, donʼt go heavy on the air-fresheners. Your potential home buyer will wonder what you are trying to cover up.
