Colonnade BridgePort has submitted a plan to construct a 5-tower residential complex near Blair Station at 1900 and 2000 City Park Drive. The project would bring in approximately 1,200 rental units.

The sculptures that were recently installed in Chinatown have been damaged or stolen. It took a few days to see this in the news but now details are on CBC, CTV, and the Ottawa Citizen.
It’s very sad! What is at the origin of vandalism? Who does it, and why? So disappointing! $200,000 was spent on these and they were here so few months. Of course when they went up I thought “Oh oh how long will these last”. Seems my concern was justified. But sad that I would even have that thought.
Are all cities the same? Countries?
A part of me wants the city to replace those that were damaged or stolen – but how long will they last? Alternatively leave the reduced groups in place – I guess, but it seems sad. Take them away – could be but not a great option.
What are your thoughts? What can be done? Why can we not have street art?

We had Parliament Cleaning come to our home to do a small job of cleaning carpets on our stairways. They arrived when they said they would, the crew of two, were courteous and professional. Our old and tired looking carpeted stairway is now looking brand new. We are very happy with their service and will definitely use them again in the future. – Tom
We have used The Parliament Cleaning Group for a number of years, mainly for carpet cleaning. On one of their visits the Owner mentioned their matting service. I had the matting installed shortly after at the main entrance to my building. Originally I thought it would enhance the appearance for visitors. It did not take long to appreciate the lack of dirt and dust being tracked in as well. Because this mat reduced my maintenance costs I had it installed at the other 2 entrances and saw the same great results. No more sweeping and mopping for us. The mats get dirty and they are there to switch them out. Great guys, great service, Love it! – Thom
