Choosing the Colour for Your Front Door
A well-selected colour on the front door can really make a statement. Better Homes & Gardens proposes some dos and don’ts. Among them: stick with the classics, don’t be afraid of colour, don’t neglect your screen door, be sensitive to your home’s style, and don’t pick a paint colour indoors. Some great ideas! But as I’ve said before when it comes to colour I’m calling my favourite designer. I find the choice of colour to be the trickiest element of design. And I don’t know how to properly interpret a 1-inch square sample and translate that to a house. Speaking of my favourite designer. Once she chose a new colour for a group of townhouses in New Edinburgh. I was not crazy about the colour at first, that did not matter, Lynn liked it and she was always right. In the end, an 1980’s infill had a much-improvided fit in a Victorian Neighbourhood. That’s what the right choice will do.
